Millie came to us with her brother Floyd in May 1998. Before that they lived with my family in NY, who just didn't devote the time and energy to them that ferrets need and deserve. Millie is our "chuckle-rat," she's our most vocal ferret. She keeps a running chuckle going from the time you open her cage and set her on the floor until she falls asleep exhausted. Millie's favorite toy is a Clarkson University Pompom she likes to carry around and sleep in (sorry, no picture) but she's also a sucker for a plastic bag and she likes tubes as well as the next ferret. Half Sweetheart, Half bitch, Millie is not afraid to show us how she feels and what she wants. Millie had a cancerous adrenal gland removed in the spring of '99. Her cancer is back in the other gland, and as she's already pushing 7 or 8 years, we don't want to risk another surgery. She lost her litter-mate and best friend Floyd in April 2001. She misses him terribly and wouldn't think of replacing him in her heart or her cage, so now she's also lonely. So this is Millie's time to be spoiled shamelessly, be showered with attention and raisins, and enjoy the time she has remaining. Judging by the speed she still moves at, we'll have her for a while yet!
